Romiley Marina is built on the ethos of progressing our Swimmers from the groud up, from the Learn To Swim stages through to the Competitive squads and then feeding those skills back into the Learn To Swim programme with our volunteers so the next generation of Swimmers can learn from them. The Teachers and Coaches then train the next generation of Teachers and Coaches, and so the loop continues, providing a great opportunity in our Community for young adults with some great tangible skills that look great on a UCAS form or on a CV later in life.

From 13yrs old, our Competitive Swimmers can volunteer with out Learn-To-Swim programme and pass on their skills to the younger generation. This can help them gain valuable insight and experience to see if they would like to commit to a formal Teaching Qualification that RMSC will fund. This also counts to the Young Volunteer Award.Read on!
From 16yrs old, volunteers can choose to take a SEQ Level 1 course and gain a natiionally recognised qualification. While still volunteering, this can count as evidence towards the Duke Of Edinburgh Award where proof of a residential volunteering role is needed.
RMSC will commit to paying back the full cost of the course over 10 monthly installments while you are still colunteering with our Club as a gesture of how valued your work is.

SEQ L2, Assistant Coaching and Coaching funding is available at the discretion of the Committee. From L2 onwards, we will pay you for your teaching time and as an extra incentive, we offer a discounted membership of our Competitive Squad!
